Process for Cancelling Naval Mortgage Registration

It can be done online or in person, following the established steps and taking into account the costs associated with the service.

Requirements to Apply for the Service

The requirements to carry out the cancellation of naval mortgage registration include the submission of specific documentation and compliance with certain criteria set by the MICM.

Documents Needed to Apply for the Service

To proceed with the cancellation, it is necessary to have documents such as the power of attorney and/or legalized act of cancellation of the naval mortgage, duplicate of the vessel owner, duplicate of the mortgage creditor, and a letter of request addressed to the MICM.

Service Application Process

Online step-by-step process

  1. Access the MICM Virtual Window.
  2. The first step is to access the MICM Virtual Window through the official web portal.
  3. Create a user and select the service. Once inside, you must create a user and select the service for the cancellation of naval mortgage registration.
  4. Upload documentation and tracking.
  5. Afterwards, complete the required data and upload the necessary documentation.
  6. Then, you can follow up on the process through the virtual platform.

In-person step-by-step process

  1. Submission of the file at the Customer Service Division.
  2. If opting for in-person cancellation, the complete file must be presented at the Customer Service Division of the MICM, located at the MICM TOWER in Santo Domingo.
  3. Assistance in creating a user in the virtual window.
  4. A customer service assistant will provide support in creating the user on the virtual platform to start the application process.
