Annual License Renewal Application for Fuel Establishments

The Annual License Renewal Application for the Operation of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and Liquid Fuel Establishments in the Dominican Republic is a mandatory process for all fuel stations that wish to continue operating legally in the country.

This application must be submitted every year, and it involves both documentary verification and a technical evaluation of the establishment.

Steps for the Annual License Renewal Application for Fuel Establishments:

Gather the required documentation: The fuel station must collect all necessary documents for the application, including.

  • Copy of the current operating license.
  • Certificate of compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Certificate of tank tightness test (in the case of LPG).
  • Technical evaluation report of the establishment.

Additionally, the following procedures must be carried out. The response time is unknown and often depends on the workload at the Customer Service Division.

Document Verification Request:

A document verification request must be submitted to the competent authority (usually the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs – MICM). At this stage, the submitted documentation will be reviewed to ensure it is complete and complies with the established requirements.

Technical Evaluation Request and Execution:

Once the document verification is approved, a request for the technical evaluation of the establishment must be submitted. An authorized technical team will conduct an on-site inspection to verify compliance with safety and environmental standards, as well as the proper operation of the establishment.

Issuance of the Renewed Operating License

If the fuel station meets all the requirements and passes the technical evaluation, the renewed Operating License will be issued, allowing the station to continue operating legally for another year.
