Foreign Company Registration Service

Foreign commercial companies that are duly incorporated must register with the Commercial Registry and the National Taxpayer Registry (RNC) to operate in the Dominican Republic. This is essential to understand “how to know if a foreign company is legal.”

All companies wishing to establish themselves in the national territory will be governed by the law of their place of incorporation and must comply with the provisions of Law No. 470-08 – General Law of Companies and Limited Liability Sole Proprietorships in the Dominican Republic.

Steps and requirements for the registration of a foreign company:

  • Commercial Registry application form.
  • RNC consultation: Request the National Taxpayer Registry of the Dominican Republic (RNC) from the General Directorate of Internal Taxes.
  • Original document from the company authorizing operations in the Dominican Republic.
  • Copy of the photo ID of the partners, administrators, and representatives of the requesting company.
  • Power of attorney from the partners to the company’s representative.
  • Copies of documents supporting the existence of the company in accordance with its home country’s legislation, duly apostilled in the country of origin.

Copies of the following documents, duly apostilled:

  • Certificate of good standing.
  • Copies of the Commercial Registry Certificate.
  • Certificate of incorporation or its equivalent issued by its country of origin.
