National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations

The National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations is a service provided by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs in the Dominican Republic. To register, a series of documents must be submitted and deposited at the Customer Service Division or through the Virtual Window.

Additionally, there are multiple licenses, requirements, and technical evaluations necessary to operate service stations and comply with current regulations. The Ministry of Economy also offers various registers related to hydrocarbons.

Requirements to install a fuel station in the Dominican Republic

In order to operate a fuel station in the Dominican Republic, it is necessary to register in the National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs. The registration process allows the registration of stations operating within the national territory since March 28, 2017.

Mandatory documents for registration in the National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations

  • Registration application.
  • A copy of the applicant’s identity card and voter ID.
  • Location plan of the fuel station.
  • Property registration.
  • Construction permit.
  • Document issued by the fire department of the station’s location certifying that it complies with the necessary safety regulations.
  • Document certifying that the station has an updated environmental protection system and complies with the technical requirements for fuel handling.

It is important to mention that all submitted documents must be up to date and in order; otherwise, the registration process cannot continue.

Cost and response time of the National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations

The cost for the process in the National Register of Fuel Dispensing Stations is not specified. The client must be aware of when they will be notified about the review process of their documents and the final approval to operate the fuel station. This response time is unknown and often depends on the workload of the Customer Service Division.
