What is the Single Customs Declaration?

The Single Customs Declaration form in the Dominican Republic is the document that allows for the declaration of exports and imports to the customs authorities, providing the necessary information about the product to be transported. It also serves as the basis for the tax declaration.

This form is issued by the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) through the Integrated Customs Management System (SIGA).

The Single Customs Declaration (DUA) is the most important document in an import or export because it contains the necessary information to comply with all customs formalities.

It is a supporting document used for customs procedures for both import and export, where the necessary information about the goods to be transported is recorded.

Where can the DUA – Customs be obtained?

This document is available digitally in the SIGA system, obtained by completing form No. 003-2007 Single Customs Declaration.

Steps to obtain the DUA form:

  1. Request registration in the Integrated Customs Management System (SIGA) as an importer or exporter through a communication to the General Directorate of Customs (DGA).
  2. Obtain the token from the DGA to access the SIGA system.
  3. Register with the Legal Consultancy of the General Directorate of Customs (if you are an individual and do not have a token, you must have a customs agent).
  4. Go to the website: http://www.aduanas.gov.do/, log in with the assigned username and password.

How to access the Single Customs Declaration form in SIGA?

  1. On the customs main page, click on the (e-customs) area.
  2. Choose (importation) (import declaration), click the new button.
  3. Fill out form No. 003-2007, Single Customs Declaration (DUA).

Supplementary documents to the DUA:

Some of the documents that must accompany the DUA to support the declaration are:

  • The commercial invoice.
  • The shipping document.

These are established by the new customs law 168-21 and the World Customs Organization.

Certificates required according to the type of goods:

  • Sanitary certificates.
  • Phytosanitary certificates.
  • Food safety certificates.
  • Vehicle registration titles.
